Invest in Youth Coalition - Social Justice Internship

Legacy LA is a community based non- profit organization in Boyle Heights, our mission is to make positive interventions in the lives of young people by offering alternatives to gangs and violence. Legacy LA builds the capacity of youth to reach their full potential and equips them with tools to transform their lives and community.
Social Justice Interns(SJI) will support citywide and community-based campaigns as part of Legacy LA’s efforts to create a community and City that supports healthy youth development. If chosen you will support in the following the campaigns : Environmental Justice, Anti - Gentrification, Substance Use Disorder, and Invest in Youth. Another aspect that we will focus on will be implementing Artivism to help further our efforts to make positive change in Los Angeles.
Key to the position is the ability to work collaboratively with community members, youth, non-profit partner members, and local politicians to develop strategies and implement campaigns of policy change.
Fall 2025 - Spring 2026 Structure:
• September - June 4th
• Monthly ~$300 $tipend (Sept - Nov, Jan - May)
• Intern will work 20-25 hours per month throughout the school year.
• Interns are expected to attend and lead community events.
Qualifications:
- Must be between the ages of 17-25 years old.
- Must have interest in art and using art as a way to push for societal change
- Desired strong written and communication skills, strong research skills, and an interest in gaining experience in grassroots youth organizing.
