About the REACH work only Artist-in-Residence Program:

The REACH Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program offers a unique opportunity for artists to serve as catalysts of change through their chosen form of creative expression. REACH is grounded in the belief that art can deepen connections between people and the more-than-human world. Our goal is to brings free, accessible arts programming to public spaces, promote environmental awareness, and inspire communities to protect and restore natural resources.

Artists are required to explore environmental issues during their residencies, including—but not limited to—climate change, extreme heat, drought, flooding, food insecurity, displacement, environmental justice, and biodiversity loss. We ask that you carefully consider materials to ensure low environmental impact.

REACH is funded by a grant from Arts in California Parks, a collaboration between California Arts Council, California Parks, and California State Parks. They envision creating spaces that nurture, educate, and inspire both individuals and communities.
