PBS SoCal - Community Storyteller Initiative
In Southern California on July 31, 2026
As Los Angeles prepares to host its historic third Olympic & Paralympic Games in 2028, PBS SoCal invites local storytellers to help capture the city’s story of legacy and transformation.
Through the Community Storyteller Initiative, we are commissioning short videos that explore the histories, neighborhoods, and cultural moments shaping the Games — and the people who carry those legacies forward today. Our goal is to capture the spirit of Los Angeles as it transforms for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Each selected storyteller will receive a grant of up to $6,500 to produce one short video (5–8 minutes) and a 60-second vertical video for social media.
Selected videos will premiere on PBS SoCal’s digital platforms and may be featured in broadcast specials, community screenings, and national PBS Olympic & Paralympic coverage.
