        ABOUT THE ROLE

        Parks California is seeking applications for a Grant Programs Coordinator position to support the Arts in California Parks program and other grant initiatives. This remote role will be integral in advancing our mission of enhancing and preserving California’s natural and cultural resources.

        The Grant Programs Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the administration and management of our grant programs, with a particular focus on the Arts in California Parks, Local Parks Grant Program. The Coordinator will contribute to the implementation of the grant program’s key phases – pre-launch, launch, proposal reviews, and the post-award. This role requires a blend of administrative, organizational, and communication skills, combined with a passion for the arts and environmental stewardship.

        REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This is a new role that reports to the Associate Program Manager and will work cross-functionally with our Programs team and other internal partners, as well as externally, with our grantees to achieve goals and desired outcomes.  

          

        OFFICE LOCATION: We are a remote-first organization, which allows us to work from anywhere in California virtually, in our Sacramento and San Francisco hubs, as well as in some of the most beautiful natural spaces across the state. The person who fills this role must reside in California. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.   

        TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS: The successful candidate must be able to travel within California approximately 5% – 10% of the year. Approved expenses will be covered.   

          

        POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

        • Grant and Administrative Support:Compiles and tracks all components of each grant submission, ensuring that each proposal includes appropriate attachments.Utilizing Foundant grant software, support the grant administration setup and workflow, program documentation, and data management.Assist in the management of grants programs, including but not limited to grantee communication and reporting. Coordinate grant review processes, including organizing, scheduling, and preparing materials for proposal review committee members.
        • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Work closely with the grant program lead to research and engage with external stakeholders, including community groups and organizations.Develop and maintain a centralized directory that identifies potential grantees and/or sources to promote grant opportunities.Monitor the grants email account for queries and forward to the most appropriate contact.Assists, as appropriate, in the design, formatting and preparation of communication materials, grant documents, summaries and/or graphics. Scan grantee social media and identify key moments for social engagement.
        • Event Coordination: Support the planning and execution of meetings, webinars, workshops, and other events related to the grant programs.
        • Other duties as assigned.

        Qualifications, Skills and Experience

        • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, arts administration, humanities, communications or a related field.
        • 1-3 years’ experience in program coordination, preferably in grantmaking.
        • Basic knowledge in grant writing and budgeting.
        • Skilled in working proactively.
        • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
        • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
        • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint
        • Experience with grant management software (e.g., Foundant) and project management tools (e.g., Monday.com).
        • Ability to work effectively with diverse and broad-based community constituencies.

        COMPENSATION

        A comprehensive benefits package will be offered based upon experience.

        • This is a full-time, non-exempt position, with a rate of $26.44 – $32.21 per hour.
        • This is a time limited-term position, funded through a contract set to conclude in December 2027.
        • We offer a comprehensive benefits package including a 401K plan that matches up to 5% without a waiting period, and $150 per month reimbursement for home Internet service and mobile phone service.
        • We provide 20 days paid vacation to start which increases over time (23 days after 2 years, and 28 days after 10 years); 10 paid sick days, 13 paid holidays, and a flexible, family-friendly schedule.
