In April 2026, CA for the Arts hosted our largest Arts & Culture Summit to date in Sacramento, bringing together hundreds of artists, culture bearers, advocates, policymakers, and community leaders from across California. 

We are thrilled to present the recorded Plenary Panel from our Summit, titled "Building Economic Justice & Power," moderated by Trevor Parham, Founder of Oakstop. He was joined by Nwamaka Agbo, CEO of Katalay Foundation and Managing Director of Restorative Economies Fund; Ash Hanson, Creative Executive Officer of Department of Public Transformation; and Nu Goteh, Founder and Principal of ROOM FOR MAGIC and Co-Founder of Deem Journal. Together, they explore alternative economic structures, community-rooted ownership models, and restorative pathways to foster freedom, self-determination, and sustainable creative economies for artists.

The panel features a special prerecorded Guest Appearance by Yancey Strickler, cofounder of Kickstarter, The Creative Independent, Metalabel, Artist Corporations, the Dark Forest Collective, and DFOS (the Dark Forest Operating System)
