In April 2026, CA for the Arts hosted our largest Arts & Culture Summit to date in Sacramento, bringing together hundreds of artists, culture bearers, advocates, policymakers, and community leaders from across California. One of the defining moments of the Summit was our keynote conversation, Art, Resistance, & the Long Arc of Justice, moderated by Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson.

Although Dolores Huerta was unable to join us in person, her powerful video message set the stage for a thoughtful conversation with Dr. Jackson, Luis Valdez, and Hector Flores. Together, they reflected on the role of artists and cultural leaders in advancing justice, strengthening communities, and shaping the future through creativity, advocacy, and collective action.
